1M-Smart Heating Film was engineered from 1-Material’s proprietary carbon based PTC ink.
This self-regulated heating film responds to its environment, inherently, i.e high power heating when it is cool, and low power heating when it is warm.
It heats only where and when the warmth is needed.
This self-regulation characteristic comes from its Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC), i.e., when the temperature rises, its inherent electric resistance increases while its corresponding heating power decreases.
This allows the film to quickly heat up and maintain a desired temperature without external controllers.
Thanks to its Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) nature, the initial heating power can be designed to be many times greater than the required equilibrium heating power.
Thus, the film can warm up extremely fast when needed then approaches the desired temperature differentially.
